Accessories Make The Mane
There are a lot of factors to consider when determining the perfect look to your wedding day style. The dress is simply one part. You also need to consider your hairstyle, makeup, and, of course, your wedding day accessories.
When brides come in for a consultation, we first ask about their personal style, the style of the wedding and request a picture of the dress. This helps determine if their accessories should complement a look that’s dramatic, tailored or romantic.
It’s often good to look for any elements in the dress that you can incorporate into your accessories. Does the dress have pearls, crystals, rhinestones? One general guideline to follow is to choose no more than three accessories for your big day–the headpiece, earrings and necklace. If your wearing a large piece like an attention-grabbing tiara or choker, make sure that the other pieces are understated.
Most Popular Looks
The wide range of looks brides often choose include studded headbands, clips, barrettes, small combs or large flower pins. Keep in mind that if you are wearing a tiara or comb in the front of your head, make sure not to have too much fullness in the front of your hairstyle. That will surely block the beautiful accessory. We always believe that it’s best if you can see some hair behind the tiara or comb, such as an up-do or a look with a little fullness throughout.
Ultimately, though, this is the day a bride should feel her most beautiful. So if she has to break a few rules along the way, go for it!
